School Is In

Ah, the first day of school,

which was over 3 weeks ago...

I so admire people who can post things like this when it's hot and fresh off the press. It's been such a whirlwind since the start of school, as I expected it would be. This is such a busy time of year. We decided to let all three boys play soccer this year and Jared is helping coach one of them. The teams are divided by age groups so that means 3 practices a week and 3 separate games + multiple locations on Saturday. Not to mention, cross country at school, homework, scouts, meetings for mom and dad, and that's just the evening time. We have another half day kindergartner this year (oh how I loathe the half day kinder schedule...) somehow I'm squeezing in morning scripture study, a little exercise, a lot of laundry, dishes, dinner, nursing the baby, holding Soli, and helping 3 kids with homework. canning and photography are taking a big backseat this year. I think the first Saturday after soccer season will find this whole family sleeping in - it may take an earthquake to wake us. Thank goodness soccer is only 6 weeks long.

Jared has been a huge help making it home to take the boys to soccer most nights. I might be reduced to a straight jacket by now if I had to get all the kids loaded up to make practices during dinner hour every night.

Adam has hit the big time and is now a kindergartner!

And the crowd goes wild!!!!

Yes he is so pleased with himself, you can see it in his face.

Adam is a kindergartner!!!
We have the best kindergarten teacher in the world. She makes the half day run around worth while and Adam seems to have a whole new energy level, he is so psyched about school. He's been telling me for a while he was going to stop sucking his thumb when he got to kindergarten. Then when it started he said "only I won't suck my thumb and school - only I'll only suck my thumb for six more days..." He says only a lot. He's still sucking his thumb at home. For six more days, right?

Good morning girls.

These little sisters get drug around so much. When the boys were little we would get together with playgroups and such all the time. We have no desire for that anymore. I think they cherish their at home time as much as I do. Here they are in the bike trailer headed for school. Katie's not quite sitting up well enough yet so we just propped her up with a boxing glove. Kids like boxing gloves. It puts hair on their chests.
